As long as the world needs electricity,

there will be a need for linemen!

The skilled workforce of IBEW Local 1249 have played a major role in many outside construction projects throughout 55 NYS counties that comprise our jurisdiction. Our Journeyman Lineman primarily install and maintain the overhead distribution and transmission lines that move electrical power from power plants to local consumers. They also install and maintain poles and towers and underground systems.

Ours is an important, essential profession!

We have 3,000+ members who install, repair and maintain high voltage power systems across New York State.
