Bert B. Pearce, 67, of West Lake Rd, Auburn, NY, unexpectedly passed away Monday, July 18, 2016. He was born in Auburn on March 4, 1949 the son of the late Herbert E. Pearce and Marjorie Pearce Rowoth.
Bert graduated from West High School and served three years in the United States Army, including tours in Vietnam and Korea. He was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bert was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1249 in Syracuse, NY for 43 years. He was initiated in August of 1973 and achieved Journeyman Lineman status in May of 1980. At the time of his death, he was the oldest active member. He traveled all over the Northeast creating many friendships. He truly loved the brotherhood and everything it stands for. Special thanks to Harry Saville, Richard French, Bill Biore, Mark Lawrence and to all his brothers and sisters that helped him have a successful career and proudly provide for his family.
Bert is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Panna Pearce; children Melissa Flynn (Craig), Jaclyn (Derek LeClair), Timothy (Kristen Schafer), Kristyna (Jonathan Geherin); his grandchildren Doryn and Damyn LeClair, Carissa and Corinne Flynn, Elsie Pearce; his brother Robert (Linda), sister-in-law Karen; nephews Sean, Rob, Kevin and Michael. Bert was also predeceased by his step-father Olin Rowoth and his brother Albert.
Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
