The holidays are finally here. After a long year, it is nice to spend a little time with family, friends and loved ones to celebrate the joy of the holiday season.
This has been a long and productive year for Local 1249. Our Local celebrated its 75th Anniversary while the IBEW International celebrated their 125th Anniversary at the 39th convention. We worked hard to organize the non-union and to make sure that our members have safe and consistent work. As a union we held our Annual Clambake to bring the members together and organized "Grow a Beard for your Brother" to raise over $3,000.00 for the families of our fallen Brothers and Sisters in the trade.
I personally would like to thank everyone that threw money in the hat for some of our less fortunate 1249 Brothers this year. These small acts of brotherhood do not go unnoticed. The local has received many thank you cards this year from some of our 1249 brothers and their family members that many of us helped.
All of this hard work and solidarity continues to make me proud to be your Brother and Business Manager. I want to wish everyone and their families a Happy and Safe Christmas and a Happy New Year.
