Message from Business Manager Mark Lawrence

Thank you for subscribing to Local 1249's Tailboard. This is a great way to get info out to the hardworking on-the-go membership.

Thanks to everyone that showed up for the meeting in Harriman on October 28th. It was great to see everyone and it was nice to see two of our retirees Ed Ryan and Art Henn. We filled up the entire lobby at the Hampton Inn because the meeting room was to small and it was an amazing feeling standing up and saying the Pledge Of Allegiance in the public's eye. There were two buses of soldiers that were staying at the hotel and I think they thought it was pretty awesome to see a bunch of grown men and women stand up and say the pledge. The Local will continue to have satellite meetings in the areas where the most work is being done especially if the turn-outs are like the one we had in Harriman. This allows members to attend Union Meetings and at the same time letting them spend more time with their family and friends. We need input from our membership, please do not hesitate to let us know about new ideas or thoughts.

Also there are a few more NYS Public Service Commission Pulbic Hearing on the Reforming the Energy Vision (REV) initiatives taking place this week in Binghamton and Syracuse. Thanks to all the members who turned out to the last meetings in Buffalo and Kingston, please make every effort to attend the upcoming meetings this week.
