Sadly, there has been a wave of injuries and fatalities in our industry. A brother from Local 94 down in New Jersey died from contact at a substation, there was another incident of contact at Mount Morris and a National Grid worker in Massachusetts fell out of a bucket. A few more incidents took place, but I want to spare you those details.
What's important is that all of these accidents could have been avoided. It's up to all of you to be your brother's keeper, slow down, wear your PPE and follow all safety procedures because the most important thing you can do is go home safely to your wife, kids, and family. So slow down and make safety a daily priority. For more information on this please click here to read a letter from IBEW 1249's Safety Director.
