Update from the Organizing Staff

Monday, November 16, 2015
The Organizing Staff would like to say thank you to all the members that call us when you see non-union activity. By taking just a couple of minutes of your own time to notify us about non-union activity, it saves us a lot of time and enables us to get to these projects so we can discuss with the employees that being in a union is the right choice.
We want to give you some insight on the right to Collectively Bargain and what it means to us as union members. Collective Bargaining is a process of negotiation between employers and a group of employees, aimed at reaching agreements to regulate working conditions. House Republicans along with Governor Scott Walker want to repeal the ability for employees to have such a right. If the papers that contain these such laws are burned, we will all be in big trouble. If such a thing were to happen, our rights for an 8 hour work day, holiday pay, overtime pay and safe working conditions - will be turned to smoldering ash! The employers that back these Government officials want us to work more for less, it's that simple. Labor organizations across the country work extremely hard to keep this from happening and we as union members are obligated to help with the war that has been waged against us. So please vote for labor-friendly politicians if there is such a thing anymore. Thank You! - 1249 Organizing Staff
